• Plays constructively building towers of 6+ bricks or stacking beakers
• Replaces pegs in pegboard
• Enjoys water play, pouring between different containers
• Enjoys scribbling with crayons on paper
• Can make horizontal, vertical and circular strokes

Parents should be concerned if their child

• Does not establish hand dominance
• Shows little interest in constructional activities - find tower building difficult
• Has problems manipulating pegs and takes a long time to complete the task
• Enjoy water play - but usually pours from container back into trough
• Has difficulty holding a crayon
• Holds with an unusually tight grip
