Expected Developmental Milestones

• Lifts toys from table and manipulates in direct line of vision
• Shows interest by smiling or making babbling sounds
• Shows awareness when toys are obscured from view e.g. object hidden under cup: child removes cup and shows understanding of 'the game'

Parents should be concerned if their child

• Picks up a variety of toys but with fleeting interest and moves from one to another after a few seconds
• Becomes irritated with the 'hide and seek' game above and has difficulty following the rules
