Expected Developmental Milestones
- The child assists with dressing, is able to remove shoes and socks and take
arms out of an unfastened coat
- The child drinks from a handled cup appropriately and feeds with a spoon
- The Child eats food with variable texture
- Bladder control emerging - the child is usually dry during the day
- The Bladder and Bowel frequency is appropriate
- Begins to share toys and work co-operatively with other children
Parents should be concerned if their child
- Shows no interest in dressing
- Continues to be a messy eater with limited control of a spoon
- Requires food to be processed to remove 'lumps'
- Does not achieve toilet skills
- has problems with bowels: stools often hard and difficult to pass
- Is happy with his own company - isolated play
- Exhibits extreme uncontrolled temper tantrums
