Expected Developmental Milestones

• The child assists with dressing, is able to remove shoes and socks and take arms out of an unfastened coat
• The child drinks from a handled cup appropriately and feeds with a spoon
• The Child eats food with variable texture
• Bladder control emerging - the child is usually dry during the day
• The Bladder and Bowel frequency is appropriate
• Begins to share toys and work co-operatively with other children

Parents should be concerned if their child

• Shows no interest in dressing
• Continues to be a messy eater with limited control of a spoon
• Requires food to be processed to remove 'lumps'
• Does not achieve toilet skills
• has problems with bowels: stools often hard and difficult to pass
• Is happy with his own company - isolated play
• Exhibits extreme uncontrolled temper tantrums
