Dr Madeleine Portwood

Madeleine Portwood is a Senior Specialist Educational
Psychologist who has more than 20 years
experience in the field. Similar to the Dore programme, she
has produced movement programmes for children with
co-ordination problems. Unlike the Dore programme, however,
she has published the programmes in her book Developmental
Dyspraxia, A guide for parents and professionals at less
than £25.00
Her original specialism was with children who had emotional
and behavioural difficulties, who found her programme
effective, and she subsequently changed to
working with the 'Early Years'.
Her specific area of specialism is "Dyspraxia"
and as well as the movement programme, she has written several books on the subject.
Her structured motor skills programme is available free for
all primary-aged children in Durham.
